Connecting with nature awakens you to your own nature.

Updated: Apr 2, 2022

A walk in the woods, start gazing, smelling the flowers, slowing down, listening to the birds, feeling the plants, animals, air, light, smells around you literally re-calibrates your nervous system. We are nature and have forgotten. We are sensing beings, picking up on the energy, pulses, and frequencies all around us, at all times. At this time in human history, the amount of artificially generated electromagnetic waves, fear based ideology, and questionable future scenarios is at an all time high. Regardless of whether you are watching the news or facing tragedy directly, we are all swimming in a massive energetic soup of chaos. Our bodies, minds and hearts are influenced by these frequencies daily. the importance of taking time in nature can not be over emphasized.

When we spend time in nature, walking amidst the trees (Oxygen we need to breathe to for our health) the flowering shrubs, listen to the birds, take in the breeze and sun sifting through the branches of the trees, we are exposing all aspects of ourselves to a rhythm we have forgotten we came from. Humans have gotten swooped up by the technological era and seem to be drifting farther and farther from our natural origins. I challenge you to remember. To bring all your senses back online and start consciously feeling them. Each sense is directly connected to important functions in your body that keep you alert, your organs working and your overall wellbeing in tact. The mind can reeck havoc on your health and wellbeing, depending on what it is eating for breakfast and through out the day. We are not meant to absorb excessive information constantly and without knowing it many people are exhausting their immune and digestive systems, simply trying to digest information. Whether its food, air, water, or information, all of it must go through our digestion. This is one reason so many American's find themselves with dysfunctional immune systems, no longer able to digest a wide variety of foods, faced will allergies and immune issues. We as a culture have overloaded our bodies with contaminants both physical and energetic.

There was a time in my life, when I could only eat two meals, for almost a year, if I wanted to truly regain my health. What I found was that in making these foods, caring for myself in such a deep way and getting the nutrition I needed so badly, changed everything. It changed my focus, my sleep, my energy, the sense of peace in my body I had not been able to find earlier, when without knowing it, I was overloaded by all the other things happening around me. At the same time I began limiting and focusing my intentions on eating food mindfully for my healing. I also cut back on excessive input I didn't need. I only read spiritual texts, meditated or engaged in activities that were nourishing to my well being. Slowly I began to get core vitality back that I'd been missing for years, running on adrenaline had become the norm, without me knowing it. As I engaged with nature, was present with my food, and was mindful about what I took into my life, my nervous system was able to down regulate and re-calibrate. As this happened, my immune system was able to start rebuilding itself because I was no longer constantly asking it to re-act to outside stimulus and excessive information that was taking the energy I needed to heal..

There were many things my body asked me to do on my path back to wellness. Connecting to my own true nature through the food I eat, the water I drink, the activities I participated in was all part of helping my body to remember its own vitality. In Ayurveda, it is understood that the human body is actually regarded as the "Food Body" because the food we eat is what builds everything from the ground up. All of your cells, tissues, muscles, bones, and so forth, is literally built from the nutrition of the food you eat. How those cells vibrate, function and protect us is also based on the environment we live in. When we take time to connect to nature through our food, through our activities, like walking in nature, connecting with the earth, we help our cells remember their true nature. There are many things we can do, but if there is only one thing we can do, spending time in nature is worth its weight in gold for the wellbeing of our bodies, hearts and minds.
